With our patient insight tools and patient community platforms, we want to improve the treatment and care experience for all patients.
A disease can be more than a diagnosis. How it develops is individual, but it can pose additional challenges for those who are affected – patients, their families, and friends.
Our online patient community platforms offer support and information about the disease, its treatment, and its effects on everyone concerned, and enable dialog between patients, other affected people, and experts in diagnosing and treating the disease and its various consequences.
With that, we close a large and important gap in the treatment of patients. Many diseases are not just a diagnosis, they can be a new burden that affected people start to carry in addition to their roles and burdens that they are already dealing with from day to day.
Our online patient community platforms are here to help patients to live their normal lives while managing the additional burden of being a patient.
For every journey, we use various tools to orientate ourselves so that we do not get lost on our way: We use compass and map to navigate at sea, lighthouses that guide our direction, and pilots who lead the way in especially difficult passages.
The journey as a patient often does not offer such tools to orientate patients. Competent and empathic guidance, and the physician as pilot are not always available to answer urgent questions or give support when patients feel emotionally exhausted.
While today’s treatments can be highly specialized and very expensive, on a personal level, patients are often left alone in dealing with their fears and anxieties, and it is difficult for them to get access to qualified and helpful information. The dramatic consequence is that many patients are anxious about their future, confronted with an abundance of information from questionable sources, and feel overwhelmed and unable to cope with their disease and participate in decision-making on their treatment and care. As a patient it is important to get answers, but to achieve this it is vital to have a chance to ask the right questions. Only this can empower patients and their relatives to make the decisions that best suit their situation and help them reach their therapeutic and personal objectives.
Our tools act as a competent consultant for the patient, striving to answer their most important questions by providing high-quality information around their diagnosis and treatment. On our online platforms, every patient is being considered not a medical case but a person first who is an important part of their own network in a community of other disease-affected members.
Together with a network of physicians and other disease experts, patrons, and network partners, our platforms and tools empower the patient to cope with their disease in a self-sovereign way and equipped with both the necessary medical information as well as emotional support.
We are founded and led by physicians, and as a non-profit organization, we are independent, supportive, and always available on-line.
